i will ask better, i have a batch file that i make into a exe file, i want to run it on a mac with outv installing any new software on the mac
can i make a batch into .dmg ?
can somone open the .dmg file? i need it to be kind of hard to open like exe Download Mac Os Dmg File
Let me understand it.. you want to create a batch file that cannot be user edited on a Mac? Hmm.. first of all, it'd be a shell script, and I'm not entirely too sure. I suppose you could remove write permissions.. you'd need to wait until a Darwin geek comes along, but I would just create a shell script and then remove the write permissions.
Another way of looking at this is asking yourself how you make the batch into a .EXE file and see if you can use (almost) the same method to change the shell script into a .DMG file.
If I have understood your purpose correctly, here's what I think. Mac and Windows, both have a bit different architecture. I'm not a programming geek, but this is quite true, you cannot possibly compile a code (written to work on Windows) for Mac OS. You'll have to start from scratch, and write it keeping in mind the Mac platform. If converting .exe to .dmg made Windows apps work on a Mac, Microsoft wouldn't have released Office for Mac separately. Well, that's what I think so.
Step 1: Download the DMG file and then convert it to ISO using a free online conversion service like YouConvertIt. Step 2: Once you do this, you can use another utility like ISO Editor to burn the ISO file to a USB drive. Dmg file to bootable usb windows.
Can you be more precise with your project, it sure sounds interesting.
'i need it to be kind of hard to open like exe '
What does that mean?
sorry for late reply,
what i think is that most people don't know how to open a exe.. so is there a file in Mac that's kind of the same? i will be giving my script to some people and i don't want them to see the code but at the same time i want that they can run it without a problem. Topic Closed![]()

Terminal User Guide
Instead of entering commands and waiting for a response, you can compose shell scripts that run without direct interaction.
A shell script is a text file that contains one or more UNIX commands. You run a shell script to perform commands you might otherwise enter at the command line.
Shell scripts are useful because you can combine many common tasks into one script, saving you time and possible errors when performing similar tasks over and over. You can also automate shell scripts using tools such as
launchd or Apple Remote Desktop.
A shell script begins with a character combination that identifies it as a shell script—specifically the characters # and ! (together called a shebang) followed by a reference to the shell the script should be run with. For example, here’s the first line of a shell script that would be run with
sh :
You should document your shell scripts with comments. To add a comment, start the line with the number sign (#). Every line of a comment needs to begin with the number sign:
#This program returns the #contents of my Home folder
Compile Shell Script To Dmg Machine
You can put blank lines in a shell script to help visually distinguish different sections of the script.
You use the
chmod tool to indicate that the text file is executable (that is, its contents can run as a program). See Make a file executable in Terminal on Mac.
